BRICK DIMENSIONS

Completed in 2006, this commercial building was designed for Nessans road in Limerick city.

The site was an old petrol station, just off the Crescent roundabout, heading towards the Regional hospital.

While working with Thompson Architects, Conor designed this building with a view to maximizing the shop fronts and creating a public corner with the curved tower detail. The building is now fully occupied, by a bank, pharmacy, legal office and ancillary office space.

The brick detailing incorporated horizontal steel channels, which play a large role in the aesthetic expression of the building. The roof has a parapet detail running all round, which hides any heating and ventilation plant which would otherwise create a visual nuisance.
