Neville house

Although full of modern design details, the design of this house is based on a traditional cottage style, common in the west of Ireland.
Ryan house

We were approached by a client who had been refused planning permission for a house he got designed by a draftsman. This house was specifically designed to comply with 27 conditions of an existing outline planning permission. The conditions were very stringent, forcing the applicant to keep the design similar to native cottage typologies.
With this in mind, we seized the opportunity to play with some modern details and still keep the overall feeling as though the house was a simple cottage. You will notice the extended canopy over the front door.
CASEYS FURNITURE STORE WINS AWARD
In 2005 the new furniture store for Casey’s won the covetted “FBD Store of the Year” award.
Conor Dennison was project architect during the construction phase. He was delighted to be part of the design team and was especially delighted because the lighting scheme was inspired during his visit to the Sydney Opera House in 2003, where he was lucky enough to see the Opera house being lit for a once-off exhibition in dark blue light. He commented that it looked absolutely amazing at the time. On returning to Limerick, he immediately started working on the furniture store with Thompson Architects. To his delight, Peter Casey was willing to experiment with a new lighting arrangement, which is now recognised as a new a beacon to nightime visitors to Limerick City.
