ELLA ENCHANTED 2003

The 2003 production of Ella Enchanted saw Anne Hathaway play the lead role as a modern-day, fantasy Cinderella type character. The story, featuring fairies, ogres and elves revolves around Hathaway’s character, who has to find her fairy godmother to take back a spell of obedience. Along the way, she falls in love with prince Charmant and the story expands..

The film was shot in the Wicklow mountains and Ardmore studios in Bray. Conor Dennison worked as set designer and then On-set Art Director for the shoot.The production designer was Norman Garwood and the Supervising Art Director was Lucy Richardson, whose wonderful paintings can be seen in the interior castle set.
